Anionic polyacrylamide is more commonly used in sewage treatment agents,PAM has many types, can treat most sewage, non-anionic type.

The anionic group of polyacrylamide is sodium carboxylate. In acidic environment, a part of sodium carboxylate to carboxyl, but the anion degree did not change, but polyacrylamide in acidic conditions may also hydrolysis, that is, amide hydrolysis into carboxyl, so that the degree of hydrolysis added.
Under alkaline conditions, polyacrylamide hydrolysis is easier, so the degree of hydrolysis may be added. Generally, dilute acids, bases and low temperatures have little effect.
Anionic polyacrylamide with negative charge groups generally have weak acid carboxylic acid groups and strong acid sulfonic acid groups, including carboxylic acid monomer acrylic acid (AA), methacrylic acid (MAA). Anions can react to positively charged substances in rainwater and then deposit floc.
